Walsh Law Firm opened its doors in Poplar Bluff in January 2014 — but Stephen Walsh's work for the people of Southeast Missouri began decades earlier. Steve earned his law degree from the University of Missouri in 1975 and has spent more than 50 years trying civil and criminal cases across the state, including in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Missouri and the United States Claims Court, and arguing before all three Missouri appellate divisions and the Missouri Supreme Court.
Long before Walsh Law Firm opened, Steve was already a fixture in Southeast Missouri courtrooms — trying cases for Butler County families through the firms and partnerships he practiced with over the decades. That half-century of local trial experience is the foundation the firm is built on today.
We're based on Main Street in Poplar Bluff. We know the Butler County Courthouse — the judges, the prosecutors, and the small-town dynamics that shape how a case really moves. When you hire us, you're not getting a name on a billboard from St. Louis — you're getting a lawyer who has lived and worked where you live for a generation.
