BJ grew up in a small town in Idaho and moved to Poplar Bluff in 2005. Before law school she worked as a legal secretary for more than 15 years — meaning she came into the profession already knowing how a case actually moves through a court file. She received her B.A. from Hannibal-LaGrange University and her J.D. from Southern Illinois University School of Law in 2023.

BJ is married with two daughters. Off the clock you'll find her at the lake with friends and family, traveling, reading, or watching docuseries.
